If you missed the news story on channel 4 Friday the 14th here is a link to the story on the web. Funny thing is, the story says The ESD has decided to end the contract with LEMS. LEMS hasn't had a contract with the ESD since I've been involved with them (probably 9-10 months) and probably longer than that. I could go on and on, but then again this has been going on and on. So what's the point.

Surprise suprise suprise!!! Last night's meeting of the Hardin County Emergency Services District No. 2 was rather eventful for Lumberton Emergency Medical Services. It seems that the ESD has decided to CEASE doing business with Lumberton EMS. As of April 1st of 2003 I HAVE NO IDEA WHO WILL BE PROVIDING EMS SERVICES FOR THE COMMUNITY OF LUMBERTON!!!! So my presidency of LEMS may be very short lived. We will have to see if the rumors of our lack of community support are true or not.

Well this evening I went to the Logoncafe to hear The Kaiser Brothers of Honkytonk Jones. I didn't get a chance to see Honkytonk Jones last Saturday because I was on call with Lumberton EMS where I volunteer as a Paramedic. As it turns out, I was a little bit disappointed because I was probably expecting a little more of the Honkytonk Jones type of show. This was mostly just a recording session for them as best as I could tell. I like a couple of their songs, and really like "Looking at Cows" but most of the songs were a little too mellow for what I wanted to hear tonight. I'm on their mailing list so maybe I'll get another chance to hear the whole group someday soon too.
Tonight I also learned of the passing of Mary Richard, a paramedic who volunteers with Sour Lake EMS. It is with much sorrow that I learned of her passing for several reasons. She has been a long time devoted voluteer with Sour Lake EMS and I have had the pleasure of working with her both at the hospital and on scenes while working for Med-Link. She will be greatly missed...

There is a certain joy in being unable to sleep all night long then remembering that you didn't really have to go to work in the morning. So I will just stay home and watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I have only recently Discovered Buffy The Vampire Slayer. For years I judged it by it's name and figured it would be a "teeny bopper" sort of a TV show. As it turns out, it reminds me a great deal of the Star Trek television series in that it is able to deal with often difficult social issues by using the Sci-Fi/Fantasy backdrop.

Have you ever wondered what you can do while you are up late at night and can't sleep? Me neither. However here's what I'm doing right now. Thanks Panda software.
