Here we are again. Lumberton EMS and Lumberton Fire Department are merging. For all intents and purposes it looks like Lumberton Fire Department has taken over. They are making changes to the way the schedule is done and probably all sorts of things that if the former Board of Directors of LEMSInc had done would have caused the members to complain that "we didn't get to VOTE on this" It's sickening me to see other people change things in such a way as to cause many of our members to become dishearened. Hopefully some time soon our ESD will see that many of the members (often the experienced Intermediates and the Paramedics) are being run off by this and will either make some changes of their own or will turn to service into a full time paid service supported by a few volunteers.

On a lighter note, I shot in my first IDPA match in Beaumont earlier this month. I place 3rd in my division.
These are the results from Wednesday's match:

CDP

D M 59.89
M J 70.81
Brian Lockridge 100.01
E J 106.16
G M 120.02

ESP

J Y 44.81
B L 66.42
R P 41.62*

SSP

M D 48.65*

I'm pretty proud of myself. My first thoughts on shooting my first IDPA shoot is that I have to learn to control the "Oh **** I have to go shoot something" feeling I have when the buzzer sounds on the timer that starts the match. Unfortunately I was working the morning of the next match. BUT, I'll be off for the next night match. If you are looking for a place to do some target or competition shooting I highly recommend the Golden Triangle Gun Club. Hopefully they will be starting up a web site soon.
